When the storm wrecks your trees, we show up.
A tree across the driveway at 6am. A limb through the roof. A leaner half-uprooted and hanging over the kids' room. That's the call we drop everything for. The storm line stays open around the clock across Trumbull and Mahoning counties — you get a real person, a real time, and an insured crew that knows how to take weight off a house without making it worse.
The calls we drop everything for
Storm work is different from a planned removal, and not just because of the hour. A storm-fallen tree is under load — bent, pinned, hung up in another tree, or balanced on a roof — and all that stored tension makes it dangerous to cut. One wrong cut and it snaps back or rolls. This is exactly the job that gets people hurt trying to handle it themselves with a borrowed chainsaw.
The most common storm calls we get are a tree down across the only way out of the driveway, a limb or trunk on the roof, a tree leaned onto the house or garage, and the half-uprooted leaner that's still standing but pointed at something it shouldn't be. All of those go to the front of the line.
If a downed line is anywhere near the tree, treat it as live and stay clear — call the power company first and us second. We don't touch a tree on an energized line until the utility kills it. Once it's safe, we stabilize the load, take the weight off the structure piece by piece, and get the tree off without adding damage. Then we clean up the wreck like we would any job.
We also document it. If the tree hit a structure, you'll likely have an insurance claim, and we'll hand you photos and a written, itemized estimate to give your adjuster.
Mosquito Lake storms hit us first.
Summer storms funnel straight off Mosquito Lake and hit Cortland, Bazetta, Mecca, and Bristolville before they reach anybody else — and the rural northeast quadrant of Trumbull takes the wind hard. Add a region full of borer-killed ash that fails the moment it's stressed, and storm season here keeps the line busy. We're based right in the middle of it, so when it blows through, we're already close.
Questions, answered
Do you really answer the storm line 24/7?
Yes. When the weather turns and trees come down, that's the worst time to get a voicemail — so the storm line stays open around the clock. Call (330) 240-5839 and you'll get a real person and a real answer on when we can be there. Daytime, middle of the night, weekend: a tree on your house doesn't wait, and neither do we.
A tree fell on my house — what do I do right now?
First, get everyone out from under it and away from anything it's touching. If it took down a power line or the line is anywhere near the tree, stay well clear and call the power company — downed lines are deadly and we won't work a tree on a live line until the utility clears it. Then call us. Don't climb on it, don't try to cut it, and don't let anyone tarp a roof while a tree's still bearing on it. We'll stabilize it and get it off safely.
How fast can you get to a storm emergency?
Depends how wide the storm hit and where you are, but when a tree's blocking your only way out or sitting on the house, you go to the front of the line. We've had calls come in early and had the drive cleared before lunch. Being based in Bristolville and working Trumbull and Mahoning every day means we're usually close — call and we'll tell you a real time, not a maybe.
Will my homeowners insurance cover storm tree removal?
Often, yes — especially when the tree hit a structure like your house, garage, or fence. Every policy is different, so call your carrier. We can give you a written, itemized estimate and photos of the damage to hand to your adjuster, which usually makes the claim go smoother. We carry our own liability certificate too, and you'll see it before we start.
